Bio:

Dr. Kyungsoo Jeong is a Postdoctoral Associate at the Intelligent Transportation Systems Lab since September 2017. He is currently working on Future Freight and Logistic Survey with exploring creative and intriguing ways of collecting data. Before joining MIT, Kyungsoo completed his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Major in Transportation System Engineering) at the University of California, Irvine. During his graduate tenure, working with Professor Stephen G. Ritchie, he conducted several freight related projects including freight data collection and modeling sponsored by California government agencies. In addition to the data-driven practical research, his doctoral research has centered on developing mathematical programming models and meta-heuristic approaches to providing more efficient truck operation systems, particularly for moving containers in an urban area. He obtained his B.S. and M.S. in Civil Engineering from Seoul National University and then worked as a transportation research engineer for planning public transportation systems at Yooshin Engineering Corporation in South Korea.
